Zito, Assistant County Administrator <br /> From: Brad Bernauer, Human Services Director1w <br /> Date: January 28, 2015 <br /> Subject: Children's Services Advisory Committee's Needs Assessment <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Children Services Advisory Committee through the Health Council of Southeast Florida has <br /> conducted a Needs Assessment for the children of Indian River County. The Needs sub-committee <br /> invited approximately 30 individuals from a variety of community organizations, all of whom have <br /> some interest in the development of the children in our county to participate in a number of <br /> meetings with HCSEF and the CSAC sub-committee. Additionally, HCSEF met with a number of <br /> community leaders and held a number of Focus groups throughout the county to obtain local input. <br /> On February 2, 2015, the Needs sub-committee presented their findings to the CSAC who <br /> approved this Needs Assessment. <br /> A Copy of the Indian River County Children's Assessment 2014 report is available in the <br /> Board of County Commissioners Office and is also available in the scanned version of the <br /> February 10, 2015 Board of County Commissioners Agenda Packet found at: <br /> http://www.ircgov.com/Boards/BCC/2015/agendas/BCC <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the Board approval of this Needs Assessment as a guide to funding agencies and <br /> program agencies for addressing the most current needs for the development of the Indian River <br /> County children. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> Executive Summary-2014-2015 Children's Needs Assessment <br /> 2015 CSAC Focus Areas <br /> Approved Agenda Item <br /> r Indian River Co.
