Table 24 shows the number and percentage of births to mothers by race and ethnicity in Indian River County in 2013. The total number of births that year was 1,217, of which 60.8% were born to White women. Just over 20% of the births were to Hispanic women. During this period, there have been fluctuations, but is notable that as compared to the year before, there was a 4.6% decrease in 2013 in Indian River County, with 570 births to unwed mothers.
