Mascola, CPO Manager <br />Division of Purchasing <br />SUBJ: IRC BID #90-60/Furnish & Install Workstations <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On request from the Building Department the bid for Furnish and Install <br />Workstations was properly advertised and Ten (10) Invitations to bid were <br />sent out. On March 28, 1990 bids were received. Five (5) vendors submitted <br />proposals for the ccnmx)dity. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Staff has reviewed the submittal to ascertain adherence to specifications. <br />Blind Squirrel DBA/Houstons was the low bidder that met all requirements. <br />FUNDING: <br />Monies for this project will come from Building Department Funds Office <br />Furniture and Equipment, which has a budget of $25,200.00. <br />Staff recommends the Award of a Fixed Contract for $25,000.00 to the low <br />bidder, Blind Squirrel DBA/Houstons for the subject project. <br />Commissioner Scurlock wished to clarify for the record that <br />although Blind Squirrel d/b/a Hustons Office Supplies does not <br />meet all specifications, staff is recommending award of this bid <br />because the bid items listed as A. B. and C. are not sufficient <br />enough to disqualify the bid and there is a savings of <br />approximately $1,400. <br />Commissioner Bird noted that the correct spelling of the <br />name of the low bidder is Blind Squirrel d/b/a Hustons, not <br />"Houstons". <br />15 <br />
