Director Pinto advised that staff had considered collecting <br />the franchise fees on a monthly basis, but it would be very <br />complicated and wouldn't be of that much benefit since there is a <br />cost involved in the collection. <br />Mr. Crosby noted that doing it on a monthly basis would be <br />quite expensive, and Vice Chairman Bird agreed that it should be <br />done quarterly. <br />There being no others who wished to be heard, the Vice <br />Chairman closed the Public Hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Chairman Eggert being absent) adopted Ordinance 90-8, <br />effective July 1, 1990, increasing the franchise fees <br />to 50, requiring that payments of franchise fees be <br />made on a quarterly basis, and extending the current <br />licenses held by Florida Cablevision and Falcon Cable <br />by eight years; and modified the language in the <br />franchise agreement that if a franchise fee is <br />increased, it would be done so through a public hearing <br />process. <br />J <br />MAY 1990 4,�A <br />
