MAY 1 ®��o <br />PROCLAMATION DESIGNATING <br />APRIL 30 - MAY 6, 1990 AS <br />LAW WEEK U.S.A. <br />IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />BOOK. 19 PAGE 9 /9 <br />WHEREAS, May 1st is LAW DAY U.S.A. in the United States of <br />America; and <br />WHEREAS, the United States of America has been the citadel <br />of individual liberty and a beacon of hope and opportunity for <br />more than 200 years to many millions who have sought our shores; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the foundation of individual freedom and liberty is <br />the body of law that governs us; and <br />WHEREAS, the Constitution of the United States of America <br />and the Bill of Rights are the heart of that body of law, which <br />guarantees us many freedoms including freedom of religious <br />belief, freedom to have and to hold property inviolate, freedom <br />of assembly, freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of <br />petition, and due process of law among others; and <br />WHEREAS, this year marks the 33rd annual nationwide <br />observance of LAW DAY, and the Congress of the United States and <br />the President by official proclamation have set aside May 1 as a <br />special day for recognition of the place of law in American life; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Indian River recognizes April 30 <br />through May 6, 1990 as LAW WEEK with "Generations of Justice" as <br />a national theme: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the week of <br />April 30 - May 6, 1990 be observed as . <br />LAW WEEK U.S.A. <br />in Indian River County, and the Board calls upon all citizens, <br />schools, businesses, clubs, and the news media to commemorate the <br />role of law in our lives. <br />Adopted this 1st day of May., 1990 <br />12 <br />2 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Carolyn Eggert, iairman <br />
