Mascola, Manager <br />Division of Purchasing <br />SUBJ: Indian River County Bid #90-72/Guardrail <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On reg7est from the Road and Bridge Division the subject bid was properly <br />advertised and Fourteen (14) invitations to bid were sent out. On April <br />18, 1990, bids were received with Two (2) vendors submitting proposals <br />for the commodity. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Staff has reviewed the submittals to ascertain adherence to all <br />specifications. Sea Contracting was the low bidder that met all <br />requirements for guardrail. <br />x <br />FUNDING: <br />Monies for this purchase will come from Road and Bridge Accounts for other <br />Road Material/Supply. <br />RECOHVIENDATIONS: <br />Staff recarmends the award of a one year OPEN END CONTRACT to Sea <br />Contracting with an estimated value of $36,939.00. Also, authorize <br />Purchasing to renew the contract for one additional year subject to <br />satisfactory performance, zero cost increase, vendor acceptance and <br />detA,�;�ation that renewal is in the best interest of the County. The <br />initial contract period shall begin on the date of award. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, the Board unanimously awarded Bid <br />#90-72 for Guardrail to Sea Contracting at an esti- <br />mated value of $36,939 and approved a one year open <br />end contract with same as recommended by staff and <br />per the following Bid Tabulation: <br />6 <br />
