Tuesday, May 15, 1990 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />May 15, 1990, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Carolyn K. <br />Eggert, Chairman; Richard N. Bird Vice Chairman; Margaret C. <br />Bowman; Don C. Scurlock, Jr.; and Gary C. Wheeler. Also present <br />were James E. Chandler, County Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, <br />Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; Joseph Baird, OMB <br />Director; and Barbara Bonnah, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order, and Commissioner <br />Wheeler led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />PRESENTATION OF SECOND QUARTERLY SAFETY AWARD <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 5/7/90: <br />TO: James E. Chandler, County Administrator <br />THRU: Jack Price, Personnel DirectorU� <br />FROM: Beth Jordan, Risk Manager/l,,, , <br />DATE: May 7, 1990 <br />SUBJECT: Request for Consent Agenda; <br />Second Quarter Safety Award <br />This is written to request that presentation of the Second Quarter <br />Safety Award be made at the May 15, 1990, regularly scheduled <br />meeting of the Board of County Commissioners. <br />Each quarter, departmental representatives on the Safety Committee <br />are asked to make nominations for outstanding safety performance. <br />The County Jail has been commended both by the Florida Department <br />of Corrections and by the Florida Department of Labor and <br />Employment Security for being deficiency -free during their <br />inspections. For their outstanding performance, and in concurrence <br />with Lt. Sam Sweazey's recommendation, we request this award he <br />made. <br />BUGK � F',1GE <br />MAY 1 b 1990 <br />
