TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Doug Wright, Director <br />Emergency Management Services <br />DATE: June 6, 1990 <br />.t r"f i <br />..r <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Renewal of Indian River Shores EMS ALS <br />Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein <br />be given formal consideration by the Board of County Commissioners <br />at the next scheduled meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />The Town of Indian River Shores EMS BLS Certificate of Public <br />Convenience and Necessity was amended on May 2, 1989, to include <br />an Advanced Life Support level of service. The original <br />certificate was issued June 7, 1988, for a period of two years. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS: <br />The ALS EMS service has continiously provided an excellent level <br />of service to the residents of the municipality and others when <br />needed on a mutual aid basis. <br />The vehicle and equipment utilized by the agency is state -of -the <br />art and the service is recommended for renewal by the Medical <br />Director. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends renewal of the EMS ALS Certificate of Public <br />Convenience and Necessity for the Town of Indian River Shores for <br />a period of two years from the date of expiration of the original <br />certificate. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously approved <br />renewal of the EMS ALS Certificate of Public Conveni- <br />ence and Necessity for the Town of Indian River <br />Shores for a period of two years from the date of <br />expiration of the original certificate. <br />'JUN 121990 21 <br />BOOK <br />
