The Board promotes and encourages recreational opportunities for <br />the general public and the citizens of Indian River County. It is <br />recognized, however, that the spoil islands in Indian River County <br />and elsewhere in the Indian River Lagoon are valuable, fragile <br />ecosystems and protection through appropriate management is <br />important and necessary. <br />Ms. Burzycki Satisfied the County Commission's concern regarding <br />use class if ications,'assuring that recreational opportunities have <br />been afforded where appropriate on spoil islands based on site <br />conditions. <br />In summary, the Indian River County Board of County -Commissioners <br />supports FDNR's Indian River Lagoon Spoil Island Management Plan <br />and encourages its adoption by the Cabinet on June 26, 1990. <br />Sincerely, <br />f. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: H.T. "SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTOR <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: NORTH COUNTY LEASED SPACE <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As instructed by the Board, Staff has looked for office space in the <br />Sebastian area to lease for the Supervisor of Elections, Clerk of the <br />Court and Veterans Services. This was to be on a temporary basis <br />until the decision was made to buy property and construct our own <br />building. Two property owners have expressed a desire and made <br />proposals for such a lease arrangement. One owner from the original <br />Request For Proposal has a proposal to be considered that qualifies <br />for our short term needs. <br />Mr. David Fisher of Sebastian Development Project, Inc. has made the <br />following proposal: <br />SHORT TERM <br />1. Twenty-four hundred (2,400) square feet on the ground floor <br />at $8.75. ($21,000 annual) <br />2. Thirty-six hundred (3,600 square feet on the second floor at <br />'$7.50.
