ASHER <br />AND STAFFED <br />ASSISTANT DIRECTUTILITY SERVICES <br />BY: <br />SUBJECT: ENGINEERING FIRM SELECTION <br />SEA OAKS WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT EXPANSION <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. IIS-90-02-DC/ED <br />BACKGROUND <br />On March .30, 1990, the Department of Utility Services"received ten <br />(10) responses to its Request for Letters of Interest to provide <br />engineering services for the Sea Oaks Wastewater Plant Expansion <br />project. The selection committee reviewed the ten (10) responses <br />and selected four (4) firms to be interviewed. <br />ANALYSIS <br />On May 11, 1990, the selection committee interviewed the four (4) <br />firms, and as a result of the interview, ranked the firms as <br />follows: <br />1. Kimball/Lloyd and Associates, Inc. <br />2. Masteller and Moler <br />3. Professional Engineering Consultants <br />4. Carter Associates, Inc. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners authorize the Department of Utility Services to <br />conduct negotiations as to scope of work and cost, and to. -.proceed <br />with an agreement with the first choice firm, based upon the outcome <br />of the negotiations. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously authorized <br />Utilities staff to conduct negotiations and proceed <br />with an agreement with the first choice firm as set <br />out above. <br />62 <br />
