JUN <br />BOOK 80 <br />Commissioner Scurlock saw these funds being used to offset <br />the impacts of tourism as well as just creating more tourism, and <br />he would like some of the funds to go into infrastructure - <br />parking, road improvements, etc.. <br />Mr. Koolage stated that he would look at that as a more <br />conservative approach, and he believed that is what t -he public <br />would like to see. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, to transfer the salary and fringe <br />benefits intended for the full time Director over to <br />increase the funding for the City of Vero Beach and <br />reduce the funding for the Chamber of Commerce by that <br />amount. <br />Commissioner Wheeler asked if we have enough money in <br />contingencies to be able to give the City the whole amount they <br />requested, but OMB Director Baird advised he would not like to <br />take the contingencies down lower. He further wished to point <br />out that we did fund the Chamber a part time employee.
