1) Convert the Breezy Village lift station to a manhole, with the <br />North County Project installing approximately 460 l.f. of 12" <br />gravity sewer. <br />2) Connect the above-mentioned gravity sewer to an oversized 12" <br />sewer system through Sandlake Subdivision (via a Developer's <br />Agreement with Dr. Henry Fischer). <br />3) Gravity feed Breezy Village, Sandlake, and all flows north of <br />Sandlake to the Park Place lift station. <br />4) Upgrade approximately 400 l.f. of 6" force main to 8" force main <br />from the Park Place lift station to our North County system. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The economic effect of these changes is as follows: <br />1) 8" diameter force main - Stratton Avenue to Breezy <br />Village $12,690.00 <br />2) New lift station at Breezy Village $50,000.00 <br />TOTAL REDUCTION $62,690.00 <br />By alteration of the Sandlake system via a Developer's Agreement and <br />Change Order No. 1 through the North County Sewer Project, the <br />following costs apply: <br />1) Change Order No. 1 (net increase) $ 1,373.80 <br />2) Developer's Agreement $24,000.00 <br />TOTAL INCREASE $25,373.00 <br />NET SAVINGS = $37,317.00 <br />For a specific explanation of Change Order No. 1, please see the <br />attached Change Order and letter from Masteller and Moler <br />(specifically Page Two). All of these changes ..equate to --a net <br />savings by the County of $37,317.00. <br />Also included in the Fischer Agreement is a reimbursement of <br />$8,480.00 for water line oversizing per our County Water Master <br />Plan, at our standard rate of $2.00/inch/foot of pipe (see attached <br />Developer's Agreement). <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends: <br />1) Approval of Change Order No. 1 with Utility Systems of America. <br />2) Approval of the attached Developer's Agreement with Dr. Henry <br />Fischer for utility oversizing. <br />Commissioner Scurlock asked.if this developer's agreement is <br />consistent with our other developer's agreements, and Utilities <br />Director Terry Pinto confirmed that it is. <br />JUL 3 37 soon'0 r,�,c 5� <br />
