PINTO <br />DIRECTOR OF UTILI Y SERVICES <br />FROM: SAM ROHLFING, RECYCLING COORDINATOR <br />SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT <br />SUBJECT: WASTE TIRE GRANT APPLICATION <br />AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE SIGNATURE <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As part of the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation <br />third -year Waste Tire Grant application requirement for Indian <br />River County, the application request must be signed off with the <br />signature of the county's Authorized Representative before being <br />sent to the DER. This individual is the Chairman of the Board of <br />County Commissioners. The Solid Waste Disposal District has re- <br />ceived the first and second -year Waste Tire grants and wishes to <br />continue the waste tire program with the support of the <br />third -year DER grant. When it has been signed by the Authorized <br />Representative it will be forwarded to the DER. The deadline by <br />which the DER must receive the application is Oct. 1, 1990. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />District Staff requests that the Chairman of the Board sign the <br />third -year Waste Tire grant application. Staff respectfully re- <br />quests that this item appear on the agenda for the Sept. 11 <br />County Commission meeting. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously authorized <br />the Chairman to sign the third -year Waste Tire <br />Grant Application. <br />5 �� <br />SEP 111990 <br />
