Deferred Compensation <br />Section 104.01 Equal Employment Opportunity <br />It is the policy of Indian River County to provide equal <br />opportunity 1n employment to all employees and applicants <br />for employment. No person shall be discriminated against in <br />employment because of such 'individual's race, religion,' <br />color, sex, age, marital status, national orgin, or physical <br />handicap. <br />Section 104.02 Administrative Policy Manual <br />The Director of Personnel shall maintain under the direction' <br />of the County Administrator a policy manual which shall be a <br />compilation of policies, practices, and procedures that <br />apply to managers, supervisors and employees of Indian River' <br />County. This manual shall be updated, from time to time, <br />with the approval of the County Commission. This manual is <br />available in the office of Director of Personnel, and the <br />office of each Department or Division. All employees should <br />be encouraged to become familiar with the contents of this <br />manual. <br />Section 104.03 Retirement System <br />Employees working in a full-time or part-time regularly <br />established positions have membership in the Florida <br />Retirement System (FRS). FRS is noncontributory for <br />members; contributions are made on behalf of the members b" <br />the County. <br />Section 104.04 Federal Social Security Act <br />The benefits of the system of old age and survivor's <br />insurance as authorized by the Federal Social Security Act, <br />as amended, is extended to all employees. <br />Section 104.05 <br />Deferred Compensation <br />A deferred compensation plan, currently administered by ICMA <br />Retirement Corporation, is available on an optional basis to <br />employees. This program is a supplement to a retirement <br />Income and it provides for a tax deferral on income <br />contributed to the plan. <br />52 <br />
