OCT.2 199 5 15 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously granted <br />final plat approval for the Meadowlark Woods <br />Subdivision; authorized the Chairman to accept the <br />Warranty/Maintenance Agreement; and authorized the <br />Chairman to execute the Contract for Sale and Purchase <br />with Addendum for the 41st Street right-of-way to serve <br />as posted, as recommended by staff. <br />AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />D. Proclamation - Fire Prevention Week <br />P ROCLAMAT ION <br />DESIGNATING OCTOBER 7-13, 1990 <br />AS <br />FIRE PREVENTION WEEK <br />IN <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />WHEREAS, during the past year, fire claimed the lives of <br />many of our fellow citizens. Many more were severely injured by <br />fire and thousands of dollars of property was destroyed. The <br />greatest percentage of deaths caused by fire last year occurred <br />in residential properties. Fire is especially devastating to the <br />most vulnerable members of our society - children and the <br />elderly; and <br />WHEREAS, many programs are designed to make the public more <br />aware of the dangers of fire in their homes; and <br />WHEREAS,. the efforts of public officials, firefighters, <br />business leaders, community and volunteer organizations who are <br />working together to bring about a safer America are to be <br />commended, especially the men and women of the fire service - <br />volunteer and career - who risk injury and death to protect the <br />lives and property of their fellow citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, the great risks and sacrifices involved in their <br />work are clearly evidenced each year during the National Fallen <br />Firefighters Memorial Services at the National Fire Academy in <br />Emmitsburg, Maryland. In October of this year, the families of <br />firefighters killed in the line of duty and 3tepresentatives of <br />the Nation's fire service will gather from all over America to <br />honor and pray for the heroic individuals who perished in 1989. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE .BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF Indian River County, Florida that. the week of <br />October 7-13, 1990 be recognized as <br />9 <br />
