modified. The engineering for this work was previously approved by <br />the Board of County Commissioners, and we' have now successfully <br />negotiated prices for this work with the contractor. Due to the <br />progress of the job (approximately 95% complete), and a delivery <br />time on the pumps of 8-10 weeks, we are also recommending a 50% <br />reduction in retainage on the contract at the time of the next pay <br />request. We are also requesting a contract extension of 40 days to <br />allow this extra work to be completed without penalty. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Three items are included in this change order; they are as follows: <br />River Run Pump Station <br />(pumps and control change) $30,264.00 <br />Pelican Pointe Pump Station <br />(floats) 300.00 <br />Park Place Pump Station <br />(pumps and control change) _20.094.00 <br />Total: $50,658.00 <br />The revised contract price would be $3,43.1,283.30; this would equate <br />to a total retainage of $343,128.33 at the completion of the job. <br />We are requesting a reduction to 5% of contract price, or <br />$171,564.17 at job end. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the following: <br />1. Change Order No. 4, in the amount of $50,658.00. <br />2. Reduction of retainage to 5% of total job, at the <br />submittal of next months pay request. <br />3. Grant a time extension of 40 days. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously <br />approved Change Order #4, as set out in the above <br />staff recommendation. <br />CHANGE ORDER #4 IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE <br />OCT 2 1990 54 RooK MSFR. <br />' <br />
