WATER PLANT MONTHLY INSPECTION AND REPORT SERVICES <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 9/21/90: <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 21, 1990 <br />TO: JAMES E. N <br />CAPITAL PROD NEER <br />DEPARTMENT ILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: WATER PLANT MONTHLY INSPECTION AND REPORT SERVICES <br />FOR ALL MAJOR WATER TREATMENT PLANTS, AND EMERGENCY <br />OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE CONSULTING SERVICES <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Our work authorization with the firm of Camp Dresser and McKee, <br />Inc. (CDM) for the above -listed continuing services is about to <br />expire. We now wish to continue these services for another year. <br />The primary purpose for having these monthly reports prepared by CDM <br />is to afford Indian River County the analysis and review of an <br />experienced reverse osmosis engineer, in order to avoid malfunction <br />of the reverse osmosis system and possible violation of drinking <br />water standards. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Under the new continuing service contract with the firm of CDM, we <br />have reduced the scope of services in the monthly reports. This was <br />accomplished through greater operator participation in • the <br />preparation of these reports. We have also added a new section to <br />the contract to cover emergency engineering services (as needed) <br />related to the water plants. The cost of the previous contract was <br />$30,754.00 for the year. The new proposed agreement sets report <br />costs at $24,571.00, and emergency services at $7,000.00 (as <br />needed), for a total of $31,571.00 for the year.* The monies for <br />these services will come from Account No. 471-219-536-033.13. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Department of Utility <br />County Commissioners approve <br />with Camp Dresser and McKee, <br />Services recommends that the Board of <br />the attached Work Authorization No. 11 <br />Inc. <br />
