Masco a, CPO Manager <br />Division of Purchasing <br />SUBJ: IRC Bid #91-9/Reinforced Concrete Pipe <br />BACKGROUND -- <br />-On request frau the Road & Bridge Division, the subject bid was <br />properly advertised and Fourteen (14) Invitations to Bid were sent <br />out. On September 12, 1990, bids were received with Five (5)vendors <br />submitting proposals for the commodity. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Staff has reviewed the submittal to ascertain adherence to speci- <br />fications. Southern Culvert was the low bidder and met all require- <br />ments for 24", 30", 36", 42", 48", 54", 60", & 72" x 8' reinforced <br />concrete pipe. Southeast Municipal was the low bidder and met all <br />requirements for 66", 96" x 8' reinforced concrete pipe. Joelson Pipe <br />Co. was the low bidder and net all requirements for 15", 18", & <br />84" x 8' reinforced concrete pipe. <br />FUNDING: <br />Monies for this nrvject will come from Budget Roan, . and Bridge <br />` Accounts for Pipe_ ..0 u 1 ve r t _ Funds available : $ ti� .: <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />,Staff recommends the Award of an Open End Contract to Southern Culvert, <br />Southeast Munici , & Joelson Pipe Co. with an estimated total value <br />of $15,000.00 per year. Also, authorize the Purchasing Manager to renew <br />the Contract subject to satisfactory performance, zero cost increase, <br />vendor acceptance, and determination that renewal is in the best interest <br />of the County. The initial contract period shall begin on the date of <br />award. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, the Board unanimously -awarded Bid <br />#91-9 to Southern Culvert, Southeast Municipal, and <br />Joelson Pipe Co., low bidders for the sizes of <br />reinforced concrete pipe listed in staff analysis <br />and approved the award of an Open End Contract to <br />same with an estimated total value of $15,000 per <br />year, as recommended by staff. <br />22 <br />I <br />
