BROOKS, MANAGER <br />SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRI T <br />SUBJECT: FIBERGLASS TRANSPORT TANK <br />BID NO. 90-106 <br />The lowest bidder in the subject bid, Glasgow Equipment, has in- <br />dicated that they cannot provide the fiberglass tank at the price <br />originally quoted. They will be forwarding a letter indicating <br />that the tank cannot be provided for any less than approximately <br />$8,000.00 <br />As a result we request that you modify the agenda item on the <br />subject bid, and recommend that it be awarded to the second <br />lowest bidder, Tuflex Manufacturing Company, at the price of <br />$6,175.00 <br />The company has been contacted and they have assured us that they <br />can provide the equivalent of the tank requested, and it will <br />meet the requirements for 'its intended use as a transportable <br />container for landfill leachate. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously awarded <br />IRC Bid #90-106 to the second lowest bidder, Tuflex <br />Manufacturing Company,.at the price of $6,175, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />s <br />
