CAROLYN EGGERT, CHAIRMAN, BCC <br />FROM: ANN ROBINSON, SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS <br />RE: ITEM FOR BCC AGENDA OF NOVEMBER 13, 1990 <br />(Increase in Municipalities share of election costs) <br />s <br />This year the municipalities held their elections without <br />a countywide election on the March ballot, so we have a <br />better idea of the actual expenses connected with city <br />elections.' In 1987, 1988, and 1989 the cities held their <br />elections in March in conjunction with the County's election; <br />in 1989 the cities were charged 35� per registered voter as <br />their share of the costs. <br />Based on the expenses listed on the attached page for each <br />municipality for the March 13, 1990, election, it appears <br />that a charge of 504� per registered voter would more fairly <br />reflect the costs when the cities are holding an election <br />in conjunction with the County. <br />This is on the agenda for your consideration'. I'll send <br />a copy of-this�material to the Mayor and City Clerk of <br />each municipality in Indian River County. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously agreed with <br />the charge of 504 per registered voter as the munici= <br />palities share of costs when holding an election in <br />conjunction with the County. <br />15 6�.�.t� <br />N 0 V 13 1990 <br />
