Mascola, CPO Manager <br />Division of Purchasing <br />SUBJ: IRC Bid #91-23/Hardware for Traffic Signs <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On request from Traffic Engineering Division, the subject bid was <br />properly advertised and Eleven (11) Invitations to Bid were sent out. <br />On October 24, 1990, bids were received with Three (3) vendors sub- <br />mitting proposals for the ccammdity. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Staff has reviewed the submittal to ascertain adherence to speci- <br />fications. Universal Signs was the low bidder that met all <br />requirements. <br />FUNDING: <br />Monies for this project will come from Traffic Engineering Accounts <br />for Traffic Signs. Funds available $39,600.00. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff reccmrends the Award of an Open End Contract to Universal Signs <br />with an estimated value of $32,827.00 per year. Also, authorize the <br />Purchasing Manager to renew the Contract subject to satisfactory per- <br />formance, zero cost increase, vendor acceptance, and determination that <br />renewal is in the best.interest of the County. The initial contract <br />period shall begin on the date of award. <br />6 <br />r <br />
