0 E0111930 POCK 82 PA"iE151 <br />ORDINANCE 90-_2_9 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING PROVISIONS FOR THE <br />COLLECTION OF FINES FOR PARKING <br />VIOLATION AS PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION <br />316.1967(6) OF THE FLORIDA STATUTES. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Vero Beach has experienced <br />difficulty in collection fines for municipal parking <br />violations, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Vero Beach has asked the <br />County to adopt an ordinance providing for collection of <br />unpaid parking tickets, and <br />WHEREAS, Section 316.1967(6) authorizes the County <br />to provide by ordinance a procedure whereby a person who has <br />three or more outstanding parking tickets shall not be <br />issued a license plate or revalidation sticker until the <br />parking fines have been paid, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that: <br />A new section 306.06 is added to the Code of <br />Ordinances of Indian River County to read as follows: <br />Section 306.06 Payment of parking ticket <br />(1) The Clerk of the Court (traffic violation <br />bureau) shall supply the Department of Highway Safety and <br />Motor Vehicles (Department) with a magnetically encoded <br />computer tape reel or cartridge which is machine readable by <br />the installed computer system at the department, listing <br />persons who have three or more outstanding parking <br />violations. <br />(2) No license plate or revalidation sticker shall <br />be issued to a person whose name appears on 'this list <br />provided in paragraph (1) of this section until such <br />person's name no longer appears on said list or until the <br />person presents a receipt from the Clerk showing that such <br />parking fines have been paid. <br />32 <br />
