Commissioner Scurlock believed the question here with our fire <br />committees is that if, in fact, we're successful on the referendum <br />question, there will be a need to reorganize all this into one <br />committee that represents all the County, but he did not think we <br />need to do anything about this until the referendum. <br />Board members agreed. <br />Chairman Bird continued with the list of committees: <br />Economic Development Council <br />Carolyn K. Eggert, Ch. <br />Talmage G. Rogers, Jr. <br />J. Ralph Lundy <br />Bd. of Realtors <br />Linda Lindsey <br />Martin Wall <br />Robert McCollum - City of Sebastian <br />Jay Smith - City of Vero Beach <br />Gene Waddell - IRC School Board <br />Ned Gartner <br />Peter Robinson <br />President, Chamber of Commerce <br />Keith Pelan <br />H. W. (Skip) Hauser <br />George Mraz - City of Fellsmere <br />Council of 100 <br />Economic Opportunities Council (State Committee) <br />Vacancy (Bird) <br />Vacancy (Scurlock) <br />Vacancy (Wheeler) <br />Vacancy (Eggert) <br />Lu Cosner (Bowman) <br />Question arose about the number of vacancies on this <br />Committee, and Commissioner Scurlock felt that either we should <br />fill these vacancies and see that it is a full board that is active <br />and does something or we should get rid of it, unless there is some <br />legal requirement to have it. <br />It was noted that this is a State committee and that it ig <br />involved with_the Head Start Program, transportation, et cetera. <br />Discussion followed as to who exactly is on this committee, <br />who appointed them, and when they are meeting. Commissioner Eggert <br />believed that Mrs. Strawter, the Executive Director, is running the <br />whole thing right now. <br />Chairman Bird believed there is a lot of money that flows <br />through this Council, and Chairman Wheeler was concerned that we <br />have an executive director and no board. He stated that he would <br />make it a point to find someone .in the next two.. weeks to fill a <br />vacancy, and Chairman Bird advised that he would, also. <br />35 <br />JAN 15 1991 ROOK FACUE <br />
