ON MOTION by Commissioner Davis, SECONDED by <br />Vice Chairman Solari, the Board unanimously approved <br />the award of contract to Dickerson Florida, Inc., in the <br />amount of $5,082,958.55, for 53rd Street roadway <br />improvements, as recommended in the memorandum of <br />October 8, 2010. <br />CONTRACT ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />12.L2. INDIAN RIVER LAGOON TMDL UPDATE PRESENTATION <br />Director Mora and Stormwater Engineer Keith McCully, P E , through a PowerPoint <br />presentation (on file), recapped the memorandum dated October 11, 2010, providing updated <br />status and a summary of the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) program. They spoke about <br />the TMDL objective, degradation in water quality, fish species, the TMDL formula, the final <br />TMDLs for allocation and process, regulated entities within the County, the requirement that <br />every five years one-third of the total reduction must be achieved, and a summary of the TMDL <br />reduction potential. <br />Discussion ensued as Commissioners sought and received clarification regarding the <br />annual street sweeping budget, the pollution reduction goal, proposed projects eligible for TMDL <br />credits, and calculating/measuring nutrient levels. <br />(Clerk's Note: Following the presentation, the Chairman moved to the next agenda item, <br />no action was taken.) <br />October 19, 2010 <br />17 <br />
