9K 138bCsits <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Wheeler, <br />SECONDED by Vice Chairman Solari, for discussion, to <br />approve staff's recommendation of Alternative 2, the <br />renewal with Arthur J. Gallagher for the first one-year <br />renewal of broker services. <br />Staff addressed further questions from the Board regarding the circumstances which <br />prompted Brown & Brown to submit its proposal. <br />Commissioner Flescher asked Commissioner Wheeler if his Motion included the County <br />going through the RFP process for the insurance broker services for the following year, and <br />Commissioner Wheeler affirmed that he did not mind going out for a bid. <br />MOTION WAS AMENDED by Commissioner Wheeler, <br />SECONDED by Vice Chairman Solari, to include <br />direction to staff to undergo the RFP (Request for <br />Proposal) process for broker services for the following <br />year. <br />Chairman O'Bryan thanked Mr Felten for all of his work and the information he has <br />provided to the County; however, he felt it was prudent to support staff's recommendation to <br />renew with AJG for one year, and to subsequently issue an RFP for the following year. <br />The Board accepted input from the following speakers: <br />Gerry Thistle, Willis North America <br />Joe Chiarella, 350 15 Lane SW <br />Calvin Kreigh, 329 Main Street, Sebastian <br />Further discussion ensued, after which the Board took the following action: <br />21 <br />April 20, 2010 <br />139 PG 240 <br />
