FINAL PUBLIC HEARING AND DISCUSSION OF 2011 REDISTRICTING OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONER DISTRICTS <br />Attorney Polackwich recapped his October 12, 2011 memorandum to provide a brief <br />report on the County's 2011 redistricting initiative. He stated that at its third Public Hearing on <br />September 20, 2011, the Board had tentatively approved the proposed Resolution and <br />redistricting documents, and today was the fourth and final Public Hearing for the Board to <br />consider adoption of the Resolution, including the map and legal descriptions reflecting the new <br />Commissioner District boundaries (see below). <br />Will Rice, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Manager, used a PowerPoint <br />presentation (copy on file) to review the redistricting process and goals. He showed maps <br />depicting existing and proposed Commissioner Districts and legal boundaries, and affirmed that <br />the proposed boundaries satisfy the redistricting criterion to have equal population distribution <br />(plus or minus 3%) within each Commissioner District. <br />The Chairman opened the Public Hearing. <br />Karen Disney-Brombach, School Board Member, revealed that on October 25, 2011, <br />the School Board would be considering its proposed Resolution adopting the change to the <br />District School Board Members' District Boundaries and District Numbers. <br />There being no additional speakers, the Chairman closed the Public Hearing. <br />October 18, 2011 21 <br />Bk 141 PG 573 <br />
