CONDEMNATION _RESOLUTION _FOR _NEW _ COURTHOUSE_ PROPERTY_ ACQUISITION <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 1/30/91: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners DATE: January 30, 1991 FILE: <br />SUBJECT:CONDEMNATION <br />NEW COU THOU EESOLUTION PROPERTY FOR <br />ACQUISITION <br />FROM: Terrance P. O'Brien REFERENCES: <br />Ass t. County Attorne . <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Board, during its December 18, 1990 regular meeting, approved Concept <br />L for the new courthouse site and authorized staff to proceed with land <br />acquisition. - <br />CURRENT <br />Staff is continuing to negotiate with all affected property owners for the <br />purchase of their property at fair market value. However, it appears that <br />condemnation will be necessary with respect to certain parcels. Therefore, <br />the first step toward condemnation is the adoption of a Resolution authorizing <br />acquisition by condemnation. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Board approve the attached condemnation Resolution. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 91-13, declaring the acquisition for a <br />courthouse and related functions of certain lots in <br />Block 44 and 45 original town of Vero, Indian River <br />County, Florida, to be a public purpose and a public <br />necessity; and authorizing the acquisition of said lots <br />by donation, purchase or eminent domain. <br />35 <br />F[ 1991 <br />? �d <br />���rjr fie..., F'�4.;F �;c <br />I <br />
