L <br />ROCK 2 F'AGE 669 <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION on the Motion with above <br />additions. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />Commissioner Scurlock referred to negotiation of the State HRS <br />contract and suggested that when we negotiate for specific services <br />that we are going to provide here locally that we have contingency <br />plans so that in case the State decided to cut out some of those <br />programs we do not suffer locally for those dollars that are lost <br />and Dr. Berman indicated he would like to help with that. <br />PUBLIC WORKS <br />FIRING RANGE FACILITY - CONSULTANT RANKING <br />The Board reviewed the following memorandum from Capital <br />Projects Manager Terry Thompson: <br />TO: James E. E. <br />Capital Projects Manager <br />SUBJECT: Firing Range Facility <br />Consultant Ranking <br />DATE: February 5, 1991 FILE: firing.agn <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Indian River County solicited Letters of Interest from <br />qualified Consultants for design of the proposed Firing Range <br />Facility. <br />The selection committee consisted of Richard N. Bird, County <br />Commission Chairman; Stan Boling, Planning Director; Edwin <br />Potter, Jr., Firearms Range Committee; Larry Tippins, Chief <br />Deputy Sheriff's Department and myself. The Committee <br />reviewed submittals, short-listed four firms and interviewed <br />these firms. The resultant ranking of firms by the selection <br />committee is as follows: <br />1. Carter Associates, Inc. <br />2. Brad Smith Associates, Inc. <br />3. Glace & Radcliffe, Inc. <br />4. Williams, Hatfield & Stoner, Inc. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />The committee recommends that staff be authorized to negotiate <br />a contract with the highest ranked firm Funding is from <br />Account 004-210-572-066.39. <br />44 <br />
