EXPANSION <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. <br />RETAINAGE REDUCTION <br />BACKGROUND <br />UW-89-09-WCHC <br />The South County Water Plant Expansion is moving along since the <br />signing of the contract with Inscho-Kirlin on June 5, 1990. To <br />date, one of the 1.5 MGD treatment skids is on line; the second will <br />be coming on line in the middle of March. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Per our contract with Inscho-Kirlin (see attached, Page 00500-3), at <br />the sole discretion of the owner and after 50% of the work is <br />complete, no additional retainage will be withheld. We are <br />requesting, at the recommendation of the Engineer (Camp Dresser & <br />McKee), a reduction in the retainage to 5% of the total construction <br />cost and furthermore request that no additional retainage be held <br />out of any future pay request. We will be rebating $66,121.20 of <br />currently -held retainage, to set total retainage at $160,500.00, <br />which equates to 5% of the total project cost. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board approve the above action and the payment as presented through <br />the attached pay request. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously approved <br />staff's recommendation as set out in the above memo. <br />29 <br />BOOK F -AH 15S <br />
