SECTION 00020 <br />ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />The Indian River County (IRC) Board of County Commissioners is accepting sealed bids for the <br />construction of the North WTP Raw Water Transmission System - North County WTP. Bids <br />will be received by Indian River County marked "BID ENCLOSED" until 2:00 P.M. on January <br />21, 2010. Each bid shall be submitted in a sealed envelope and shall bear the name and <br />address of the bidder on the outside and the words "North WTP Raw Water Transmission <br />System- North County WTP; Bid No. 2010024; and UCP #2422." Only bids received on or <br />before the time and date listed will be considered. Bids should be addressed to Purchasing <br />Division, 1800 27th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960. All bids will be -opened publicly and read <br />aloud at 2:00 P.M. Deadline for receipt of bids has been set for January 21, 2010. All bids <br />received after 2:00 P.M. will be returned unopened. <br />All material and equipment furnished and all work performed shall be in strict accordance with <br />the plans, specifications, and contract documents pertaining thereto, which may be obtained <br />from PBS&J at 600 N. Broadway Avenue, Suite 310, Bartow, Florida 33830 (contact: Kim S. <br />Keefer, PE, 863-533-7000). Copies of the plans and the specifications containing the necessary <br />contract documents may be obtained by deposit of a check made payable to PBS&J, in the <br />amount of $100 for each set, which represents cost of printing, handling and is non refundable. <br />Communications concerning this bid shall be directed to IRC Purchasing Department at 772- <br />226-1416. <br />All bids shall be submitted in Duplicate on the Bid Forms provided within the Bidding <br />L) Documents. BID SECURITY must accompany each Bid, and must be in the form of an AIA <br />Document A310 Bid Bond, properly executed by the Bidder and by a qualified surety, or a <br />certified check or a cashier's check, drawn on any bank authorized to do business in the State <br />of Florida. Bid Security must be in the sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount <br />of the bid, made payable to Indian River County Board of County Commissioners. In the event <br />the Contract is awarded to the Bidder, Bidder will enter into a Contract with the County and <br />furnish the required 100% Public Construction Bond within the timeframe set by the County. If <br />Bidder fails to do so, the Bid Security shall be retained by the County as liquidated damages <br />and not as a penalty. <br />The County reserves the right: to delay awarding of the Contract for a period of sixty (60) days <br />after the bid opening; to waive informalities in any bid; reject any or all bids in whole or in part <br />with or without cause; or to accept the bid that, in its judgment, will serve the best interest of <br />Indian River County. <br />A Pre -Bid Conference meeting will be held on January 7 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the Indian <br />River County Administration Building B, Conference Room B1-501, in Indian River County, 1800 <br />27th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
