Brown rk <br />Director, Office of Management & ud et <br />Date: March 4, 2011 <br />Subject: Miscellaneous Budget Amendment 009 <br />Description and Conditions <br />The attached budget amendment appropriates funding necessary for the following: <br />At the time the FY 2010/11 budget was approved, the Teamsters Union had not <br />reached a vote on foregoing their merit raise and top -out bonuses. Since then, the <br />Teamsters Union has agreed to forego their merit raise and top -out bonuses in return for <br />having ten union employees added back to the budget. This results in some <br />departments experiencing cost increases while others realize a savings. The attached <br />entry reallocates these funds between departments to cover the salary- expenses <br />incurred due to the agreement that was reached. Funding in the amount of $36,761 will <br />be provided from General Fund Cash Forward, and 266,648 from M.S.T.U. Fund Cash <br />Forward to cover salaries which exceeded the original budgeted amounts. <br />2. Sick incentive costs have been higher than anticipated in some departments. The <br />attached entry appropriates funding from General Fund/Cash Forward -Oct 1St for $9,242, <br />MSTU Fund/Cash Forward -Oct 1st for $2,800, Transportation Fund/Cash Forward -Oct <br />1St for $563 and Self Insurance Fund/Cash Forward -Oct 1St for $2,477. <br />3. On March 8, 2011 the Board of County Commissioners approved the Asbestos <br />Abatement and Demolition of six structures at Gifford Garden Apartments. The attached <br />entry appropriates funding in the amount of $79,920 from M.S.T.U. Fund Cash Forward. <br />4. Per the agreement with Indian River State College (IRSC),. funds remaining after <br />construction of the Brackett Library are to be used for operating expenditures. The <br />attached entry appropriates funding in the amount of $40,000 from the Prior Year <br />Expense account in the General Fund. <br />5. The Brackett Library has received revenue proceeds from use of their public copy <br />machine. The attached entry appropriates funding for supplies for the machine in the <br />amount of $1,500. <br />55 <br />
