Indicator lights for engine alarm <br /> All wiring and interconnections shall be in accordance with <br /> commercial electrical standards. <br /> B. Location <br /> 1. All of the foregoing instruments, lights and controls shall be <br /> mounted in a control panel on the generator set. All instrumen- <br /> tation must be isolated from engine generator set vibration. <br /> 2. In addition, an ammeter, voltmeter, "generator ready" light, a <br /> start/stop control, and an audible alarm and alarm light shall be <br /> provided in a generator control panel to be remotely wall mounted. <br /> The audible alarm and alarm light shall operate for any of the <br /> engine or generator alarms provided on the local control panel. <br /> Cable between the local and remote control panels shall be <br /> provided. <br /> C. Panel Design. All instruments, controls and indicating lights shall be <br /> properly identified. All wires shall be individually identified and must agree <br /> with wiring diagrams provided. <br /> D. Terminals on all terminal blocks shall be individually identified. <br /> 17.2.08 ACCESSORIES <br /> A. Enclosure. The entire engine-generator assembly, including the battery, <br /> battery charger, day tank, lift pump, control panel, and radiator shall be <br /> enclosed in a steel or aluminum sound attenuated enclosure suitable for an <br /> outdoor environment. The enclosure shall attenuate to a decibel level of <br /> 65-70 dB at a distance of 7 meters horizontally in any direction around the <br /> entire generator enclosure. The enclosure shall be rated NEMA 3R, and <br /> shall be of adequate strength to withstand a 90 MPH wind without <br /> damage. Provisions shall be made on the enclosure for mounting the <br /> engine exhaust silencer. Louvers or dampers shall be provided to allow <br /> adequate radiator ventilation during operation without reducing the rating of <br /> the engine-generator unit. Doors shall be provided as required for access <br /> to the engine and control panel. Generator pad / platform shall have a <br /> maintenance walk a minimum of 3'-0" wide around three sides of the <br /> generator, also see plans. Stairs shall be provided from grade to the pad / <br /> platform where the elevation difference is greater than 1' — 0" from final <br /> grade to the top of the generator pad /platform. <br /> B. Block Heater. An engine block heater shall be provided to keep the engine <br /> coolant at a temperature of 85° F with the ambient temperature at the <br /> minimum specified in paragraph 2.02. The heater shall be suitable for <br /> operation at 120/240 (NOTE TO DESIGNER Select desired voltage) volts <br /> ac, single phase. <br /> 17-9 <br />
