The purpose of the interviews was <br />to gain an understanding from a diverse group of community representatives regarding their <br />opinions, perceptions and vision for future opportunities and challenges regarding public <br />transportation. <br />The interviews were utilized to gain a collective perspective on the strengths and weaknesses of <br />the existing transit system, expectations from the transit service and the community vision for the <br />future of the transit system. 'those interviews were conducted during the months of April and <br />May 2013 from the following group of community stakeholders: <br />• Mayor Bob McPartlan, City of Sebastian <br />• Penny Chandler, President, Indian River Chamber of Commerce <br />• Richard Stetson, CEO, Workforce Solutions <br />• David Sullivan, Indian River State College <br />• Julianne Price, Environmental Specialist, Indian River County Health Department <br />• Larry Hyrnowitz, Mobility Coordinator, Florida Department of Transportation District <br />4 <br />The community stakeholder interviews were conducted in an open format to allow the <br />participants to provide their perspective on the following general themes: <br />1. Perceptions of current system performance <br />2. Barriers that prevent people from using the service <br />4-33 <br />
