�— individual apartment units (all units in buildings with elevators and ground floor units in <br /> buildings without elevators) be designed and constructed with certain accessible features <br /> (see 24 CFR 100.201). <br /> Article XIV—American with Disabilities Act of 1990 <br /> Recipients will comply with the requirements of Titles I, II, III of the Americans with <br /> Disabilities Act, which prohibits recipients from discriminating on the basis of disability in <br /> the operation of the public entities, public and private transportation systems, places of the <br /> public accommodation, and certain testing entities (42 U.S.C. 12101-12213). <br /> Article XV—Age Discrimination Act of 1975 <br /> Recipients will comply the requirements of the Age discrimination Act of 1975 (42 U.S.C. <br /> 6101 et seq.), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of age in any program or activity <br /> receiving Federal financial assistance. <br /> Article XVI—Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 <br /> Recipients will comply with the requirements Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 <br /> (20 U.S.C. 1681 et seq.) which provides that no person in the United States will, on the <br /> basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to <br /> discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial <br /> assistance. These regulations are codified at 44 CFR Part 19. <br /> Article XVII— Rehabilitation Act of 1973 <br /> Recipients will comply with the requirements of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of <br /> 1973, 29 U.S.C. 794, as amended, which provides that no otherwise qualified handicapped <br /> individual in the United States will, solely by reason of the handicap, be excluded from <br /> participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to the discrimination under any <br /> program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. These requirements pertain to <br /> the provision of benefits or services as well as to employment. <br /> Article XVIII— Limited English Proficiency <br /> Recipients will comply with the requirements of Executive Order 13166, Improving Access <br /> to Services for Persons with Limited English Proficiency, and resulting agency guidance, <br /> national origin and resulting agency guidance, national origin discrimination includes <br /> discrimination on the basis of limited English proficiency (LEP). To ensure compliance with <br /> title VI, recipients must take reasonable steps to ensure that LEP persons have meaningful <br /> access to your programs. Meaningful access may entail providing language assistance <br /> services, including oral and written translation, where necessary. Recipients are <br /> encouraged to consider the need for language services for LEP persons served or <br /> 104 <br />
