The Committee reviewed item #7 of the possible new Local Incentives Report <br /> "r 1. Waive the Local Business Tax Receipt. <br /> UNDER DISCUSSION <br /> Attorney Polackwich said the Local Business Tax Receipt was formerly called the <br /> Business Tax Receipt. <br /> Attorney Polackwich said the Local Business Tax Receipt could be waived for a <br /> specified period of time. <br /> The general consensus of the committee was in favor of waiving the Local <br /> Business Tax Receipt for a specified time. <br /> The Committee reviewed item #8 of the possible new Local Incentives Report <br /> 8. Waive (in whole or in part) franchise or fee-in-lieu of franchise fee <br /> (water/sewer, electric, garbage, etc.) <br /> UNDER DISCUSSION <br /> Commissioner Flescher said the incentive should be consistent with the other <br /> `�— incentives that were already established. He said the period of time should be limited <br /> and felt three years was ample time to get a business up and running. <br /> Attorney Polackwich said this incentive would not apply to existing businesses. <br /> Mrs. Caseltine reminded the committee that the Enterprise Zone Development Agency <br /> was coming up for sun-setting review in 2015 as was the State's program. <br /> The general consensus of the committee was in favor of Waiving (in whole or <br /> in part) franchise or fee-in-lieu of franchise fee (water/sewer, electric, garbage, <br /> etc.) <br /> Mr. Westover mentioned incentive #5 and suggested a special fund be <br /> implemented <br /> Enterprise Zone Strategic Plan (Review and/or Revisions (Action Required) <br /> The Enterprise Zone Strategic Plan review was tabled until the next EZDA <br /> meeting on Thursday, December 13, 2012. <br /> Committee Member Items (No Action Required) <br /> EZDA UN-APPROVED 9 November 08, 2012 <br /> CADocuments and Settings\apolackwich\Local Settings\Temporary Internet 130 <br /> Fi les\Content.Outlook\5ERVKF3F\11-08-12.doc <br />
