Florida Forest • - Indian River County <br /> Goals for Fiscal Year 2012/2013 <br /> 1. Develop Fire Adaptive Communities: <br /> ✓ Identify high wildfire risk communities in the County <br /> ✓ Provide the communities with educational tools for homeowners to become partners with <br /> Florida Forest Service and Indian River County Fire Rescue. Encourage communities to become <br /> Firewise and reduce their own wildfire risk. <br /> ✓ Through a prioritization system, reduce large wildfire hazards through fuels mitigation (burning, <br /> mowing& chopping) <br /> 2. Review and edit the County Community Wildfire Protection Plan <br /> ✓ Update historical wildfire information (5, 10 , 15 maps) <br /> ✓ Update level of concern maps <br /> ✓ Encourage large landowners (city, county, state, federal, tribal and private)to mitigate their <br /> property to reduce wildfire risk <br /> 3. Reduce the number of human caused wildfires by increasing our educational and outreach campaign. <br /> Develop partners to help spread out message. <br /> 4. Increase the number of large landowner assist with fire line plowing and prescribe burning assistance. <br /> 5. Continue to assist local fire departments in upgrading their equipment through the RCFP program. <br /> 6. Provide training (as needed): <br /> ✓ Incident Command System Training <br /> ✓ S130/S190 Basic Wildland Firefighting <br /> ✓ Certified Prescribed Burning <br /> ✓ Certified Pile Burning <br /> 7. Increase communication.and inter-agency collaboration between Florida Forest Service and Indian River <br /> County Fire Rescue <br /> 6 � <br />
