Matson, AICP; MPO Sta Director /0,/� <br /> FROM: Brian Freeman, AICP; Senior Transportation Planner (� <br /> DATE: September 20, 2013 <br /> SUBJECT: Consideration of the Indian River County Transit Development Plan (TDP) <br /> Major Update <br /> It is requested that the information herein presented be given formal consideration by the Board of <br /> County Commissioners at its regular meeting of October 1, 2013. <br /> SUMMARY <br /> According to state and federal regulations, Indian River County, in conjunction <br /> with the Indian River County MPO, must prepare and adopt a Major Update of its <br /> Transit Development Plan (TDP) in October of 2013. At its September 11, 2013 <br /> meeting, the MPO Board endorsed the TDP major update with one change. That <br /> change was to expand GoLine weekday service hours from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm in <br /> 2014. The change has been incorporated into the final TDP.Because the County is <br /> the designated recipient of federal and state transit grant funds, the County must <br /> approve the TDP Major Update. Staff recommends that the Board of County <br /> Commissioners review the attached draft final plan, provide staff with any <br /> comments on the report, and approve the draft final plan. <br /> DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br /> According to state and federal regulations,Indian River County,in conjunction with the Indian River <br /> County MPO, must prepare and adopt a Major Update of its Transit Development Plan (TDP) in <br /> October of 2013. That TDP must include a comprehensive review of the management and operations <br /> of the transit system and must culminate in a ten year service and capital improvements plan for the <br /> transit system.
