<br /> INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

<br /> h WHEREAS, Robert M. Keating (Bob) began his employment with Indian River County in March
<br /> b 1983 and is retiring December 31, 2013; and
<br /> WHEREAS Bob was hired on March 7 1983 as Planning & Zoning Manager; was promoted to
<br /> Planning & Development Director on October 6, 1983; was promoted in 1988 to the newly
<br /> created position of Community Development Director; and
<br /> WHEREAS, Bob has directed and supervised the Planning Division, Environmental Planning &
<br /> Code Enforcement, IRCLHAP/SHIP Program, Metropolitan Planning Organization, Building
<br /> Division, Rental Assistance, Agricultural Extension Service, and the Soil & Water Conservation
<br /> District; and
<br /> WHEREAS, under Bob's direction and leadership, multiple committees and boards were
<br /> established or re-structured, including the Code Enforcement Board, Technical Review
<br /> Committee, Metropolitan Planning Organization, Metropolitan Planning Organization Citizens
<br /> Advisory Committee, Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Advisory Committee,
<br /> Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board, Historic Resource Advisory
<br /> Committee, Marine Advisory/Narrows Watershed Action Committee, Conservation Lands
<br /> Advisory Committee, Land Acquisition Advisory Committee, Affordable Housing Advisory
<br /> Committee, Local Housing Assistance Program, Loan Review Committee, Community
<br /> Development Block Grant Citizen Advisory Task Force, Community Development Block Grant
<br /> Neighborhood Stabilization Program Citizen Advisory Task Force, Professional Services
<br /> Advisory Committee, School Planning Technical Advisory Committee, Public School,Planning
<br /> Staff Working Group, Citizens Oversight Committee, and Elected Officials Oversight Committee;
<br /> and
<br /> WHEREAS, Bob also established the POD (Planner of the Day) office and faithfully executed
<br /> POD duty each month; and
<br /> WHEREAS, Bob was instrumental in guiding and shaping the development of this community
<br /> into a well-planned, highly desirable place to live, work, and recreate; and
<br /> i WHEREAS, Bob has served this County and the Public with exemplary integrity, competence,
<br /> endurance and success;
<br /> ;t NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
<br /> OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Board applauds Bob's efforts and planning
<br /> legacy on behalf of the County, and the Board wishes to express its appreciation for the
<br /> dedicated service he has given to Indian River Countyfor over 30 years; and
