Brown <br />Director, Office of Manag ment & Budget <br />Date: December 2, 2013 <br />Subject: Miscellaneous Budget Amendment 002 <br />Description and Conditions <br />The attached budget amendment appropriates funding necessary for the following: <br />The Emergency Services District is in need of 20 replacement tablets. These tablets are used to <br />record information required for ALS billing. The attached entry appropriates funding for this <br />expenditure in the amount of $49,729 from Emergency Services District/Reserve for <br />Contingency. <br />2. On November 6, 2013 payment from the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) in <br />the amount of $55,721 was received by the County. The program provides funding to <br />participating jurisdictions for the partial reimbursement of costs incurred by incarcerating <br />undocumented criminal aliens in their correctional facilities. At the Board meeting of November <br />19, 2013 the BCC approved distribution of these funds to the Sheriff. The attached entry <br />appropriates these funds. <br />3. On November 12, 2013 the Board of County Commissioners approved moving forward with an <br />Economic Development Positioning Initiative to provide funding in the amount of $75,000 over a <br />two year budget cycle. Funding for this expenditure in the amount of $37,500 will be provided by <br />General Fund/Reserve for Contingency. <br />4. On November 12, 2013 the Board of County Commissioners approved additional funding for <br />Historic Dodgertown room renovations in the amount of $34,000. The attached entry <br />appropriates these funds from Optional Sales Tax/Cash Forward -Oct 1 st <br />5. On October 22, 2013 the Board of County Commissioners approved the condemnation, <br />demolition and removal of two unsafe structures. On November 12, 2013 the Board of County <br />Commissioners approved an additional two structures. The attached entry appropriates funding <br />in the amount of $16,700 from M.S.T.U. Fund/ Reserve for Contingency. <br />6. The Florida Dept. of Labor has invoiced the County for unemployment compensation in various <br />departments for the quarter ending September 30, 2013. The attached entry appropriates <br />unemployment compensation from Fleet/Cash Forward -Oct 1St $275. <br />78 <br />
