Burkeen, Assistant Chief <br /> Department of Emergency Services <br /> DATE: November 25, 2013 <br /> SUBJECT: Approval of Renewal for a Class "E" and Class "B" Certificate of Public <br /> Convenience and Necessity for Falck Southeast II, Corp d/b/a All County <br /> Ambulance to Provide Wheelchair/Stretcher and Interfacility Ambulance <br /> Transportation Services. <br /> On March 13,2012,the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners approved a Class"E" <br /> and Class`B"Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for Falck Southeast II,Corp d/b/a All <br /> County Ambulance to provide wheelchair/stretcher and interfacility ambulance medical transportation <br /> originating within Indian River County.This certificate was necessary in order to comply with Indian <br /> River Code of Laws and Ordinances as specified in Chapter 304. The certificate was approved for a <br /> period of two (2)years and will expire March 13, 2014. <br /> The Indian River County Code provides for routine renewal of the EMS Certificate of Public <br /> Convenience and Necessity on an application by the certificate holder. This can be accomplished <br /> without a public hearing if the Board has no reason to believe that the public health, safety, and <br /> welfare require it. <br /> An application for the renewal of the Class"E"and Class`B"Certificate ofPublic Convenience and <br /> Necessity has been submitted by Falck Southeast II, Corp d/b/a All County Ambulance. Staff has <br /> reviewed the application and no reasons are known or perceived that would require a public hearing <br /> pursuant to the established ordinance. <br /> FUNDING: <br /> There are no funding requirements for this item. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff respectfully recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve renewal ofthe Class <br /> 135 <br />
