MAY ZI <br />p y 4 d <br />C�ool�, <br />eJ <br />3 f�1,E 4 <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Eggert, to approve advancing $1,000 <br />to the Marine Resources Council for temporary <br />funding. <br />Administrator Chandler explained his understanding was that <br />the request was for a loan but after a telephone conversation with <br />Ms. Barile yesterday, he found they had changed the request to a <br />direct outlay of $1,000. <br />Commissioner Bowman confirmed that there had been some <br />misunderstanding and they wish this to be an outright grant with no <br />reimbursement. <br />Commissioner Scurlock withdrew his motion. Commissioner <br />Eggert withdrew her second. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bowman to grant <br />$1,000 to Marine Resources Council. <br />Commissioner Wheeler advised that in his conversation with Ms. <br />Barile it was indicated the request was for a loan which will be <br />reimbursable after they receive their funds. <br />Commissioner Eggert asked why it was changed. <br />Administrator Chandler did not know. <br />Commissioner Scurlock voiced concern regarding contributions <br />to begin programs which, after a certain time, are left to the <br />County to carry on. <br />Commissioner Eggert was in favor of a loan but not a grant. <br />Chairman Bird asked if there was a second to Commissioner <br />Bowman's motion.
