FF <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> HONORING JOSEPH MATTHEW CASH <br /> FOR ATTAINING THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT <br /> WHEREAS, the Eagle Scout is the highest rank of recognition in Scouting and a young man must <br /> exemplify the highest ideals of the Boy Scout movement to qualify for this rank; and <br /> WHEREAS, to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Boy Scout must advance through five ranks, <br /> Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and Eagle. A scout must earn 21 merit badges; in addition <br /> to many other requirements Joseph has not only earned the required 21 badges, but continues to work <br /> towards advancing that achievement by continuing to earn more. Joseph is currently at 26 merit badges, of <br /> which he is eligible every three months to advance his Eagle rank by receiving Eagle Palms; and <br /> WHEREAS, Joseph was a Cub Scout in pack 503 and earned the Arrow of Light, the highest <br /> recognition available at the level; and <br /> WHEREAS, Joseph is a valued member of Boy Scout Troop 558, and a former member of Troop <br /> 503 and is a dedicated young man who has earned the respect and admiration of his fellow scouts through <br /> his active participation in the many programs sponsored by the boy Scouts of America; and <br /> WHEREAS, Joseph has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles while participating <br /> in such other community activities as volunteering for many veterans' organizations, Joseph served as <br /> President and Secretary of his 4H Shooting Sports Club, and is an active member of his church where he <br /> helps to lead the annual vacation bible school; and <br /> WHEREAS, Joseph's Eagle Scout community service project; the makeover and enhancement of <br /> the playground at the Vero Beach Alliance Church improves the quality of life for many children in Indian River <br /> County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens of Indian River County have benefited by Joseph's commitment to <br /> scouting and applaud him for his attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Board recognizes the accomplishments of Joseph Matthew <br /> Cash, and honors him for his achievement. <br /> Adopted this 19th day of March, 2013 <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, <br /> INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br /> ` j <br /> J eph .
