Brown <br /> Director, Office of Managem nt & Budget <br /> Date: February 25, 2013 <br /> Subject: Fourth of July Fireworks Funding <br /> Miscellaneous Budget Amendment 007 <br /> Background Information <br /> For several years, Indian River County has provided assistance in funding Fourth of July fireworks <br /> displays in Vero Beach and Sebastian. The Lions Club of Sebastian has again requested assistance <br /> in funding their celebration this year. For many years, the County has contributed $2,500 each to <br /> Sebastian and the City of Vero Beach. <br /> Alternatives <br /> New <br /> At this time, we are requesting direction from the Board of Commissioners on providing funding for the <br /> Fourth of July fireworks displays in Vero Beach and Sebastian. <br /> Alternative No. 1: <br /> Decline funding the fireworks displays for the Cities of Sebastian and Vero Beach in <br /> light of current economic and taxing environments. <br /> Alternative No. 2: <br /> Approve funding the fireworks displays for the Cities of Sebastian and Vero Beach in <br /> the amount of $2,500 each. Staff recommends that any contribution serve as a match <br /> for the amount funded by the respective city up to $2,500. <br /> Additionally, approve the attached Budget Amendment 007 and Resolution amending <br /> the fiscal year 2012/2013 budget. Funding in the amount of $5,000 will be provided <br /> from MSTU/Reserve for Contingency. <br /> *4.. <br /> 80 <br />
