(Golder) is pleased to present this proposal to provide construction services to <br /> Republic Services, Inc. (Republic) related to access road ditch modifications at the Indian River County <br /> Solid Waste Landfill. <br /> PROJECT UNDERSTANDING <br /> Golder's understanding of the project is based on drawings and technical specifications dated January 25, <br /> 2013, prepared by Geosyntec Consultants (Geosyntec), the scope of work as detailed on the Bid Form <br /> (dated January 25, 2013), and information gathered during a site visit conducted on February 20, 2013. <br /> In summary, the work consists of modifications to approximately 760 linear feet of ditch along the landfill <br /> access road, and will entail the following tasks: <br /> • Stockpiling existing check dams in the work area depicted on the construction drawings; <br /> • Subgrade preparation, including clearing and stripping of soils in the ditch work area; <br /> ® Removal of silt fence and siltation accumulated behind check dams along the ditch; <br /> ® Soils construction including importing fill for earthwork for establishing a trapezoidal cross <br /> section for the ditch; <br /> • Seeding the ditch cross section followed by installation of the Flexamat lining system <br /> using manufacturer's guidelines and specifications; <br /> ® Installation of check dams above the Flexamat lining system; <br /> ® Installation of sod outside the Flexamat lining; and <br /> ® Performing an initial and final as-built survey of the work. <br /> PERTINENT EXPERIENCE <br /> Golder's solid waste construction staff has knowledge and direct working experience at the Indian River <br /> County Landfill. In addition to this construction experience, Golder has extensive engineering and field <br /> operations experience in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana,Texas, Colorado and California. <br /> PROJECT STAFF <br /> Golder will use staff familiar with the operations at the Indian River County Landfill and the precautions <br /> associated with working at this facility. Those staff will include Michael J.
