Other modifications were made to further enhance the design and to <br /> improve operation and maintenance activities at the facility. These modifications are <br /> summarized in Change Order No. 1, attached. Change Order No. 1 reduces the <br /> contract price by ($2,012.41) resulting in a final contract price of$1,286,469.59. <br /> All construction work is complete and approved by staff. Therefore, we request <br /> issuance of final payment to Close Construction, LLC, including release of retainage, <br /> and approval of Change Order No. 1 which reduces the contract amount by ($2,012.41). <br /> Flow from the Indian River Farms Water Control District Lateral D Canal was introduced <br /> to the new floway on February 5, 2013. Egret Marsh has been fully operational since. <br /> ANALYSIS <br /> Alternative No. 1 —Approve final payment to Close Construction, LLC, including release <br /> of retainage, and approve Change Order No. 1. The original contract amount is <br /> reduced by ($2,012.41) resulting in a final contract amount of$1,286,469.59. <br /> Alternative No. 2 — Reject final payment to Close Construction, LLC, including release of <br /> retainage, and do not approve Change Order No. 1. <br /> FUNDING <br /> Change Order No. 1 decreases the original contract amount by ($2,012.41) resulting in <br /> a final contract amount of $1,286,469.59. Final payment to Close Construction is <br /> $147,957.29, which includes $59,921.70 in retainage. The retainage will be paid from <br /> Optional Sales Tax/Retainage Payable — Close Construction - Account Number 315- <br /> 206004-05057. The remaining $88,035.59 in non-retainage construction contract funds <br /> will be paid from Account No. 31524338-066510-05057- Optional Sales Tax/Public <br /> Works/Egret Marsh Stormwater. (For FY 2012/13, $1,500,000 has been budgeted for <br /> the project.) <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends the Board of County Commissioners: <br /> 1. Approve Alternative No. 1, final payment to Close Construction, LLC, including <br /> release of retainage, approve Change Order No. 1, and authorize the Chairman <br /> to execute all documents necessary to accomplish the recommendation. <br /> ATTACHMENTS <br /> 1.
