Director of Utility Services <br /> FROM: Vmcen <br /> n'Y <br /> PREPARED BY: <br /> 1 <br /> Te Southard,Operations Manager Q,W`Q- —fvj5 <br /> SUBJECT: Work Order No. 3, Masteller && Moler, Inc. , Central Regional <br /> Wastewater Plant Sludge Holding Tank Modifications <br /> BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS <br /> Indian River County Utilities which operates the Central wastewater treatment plant located at <br /> 3550 49th street,was expanded in 2000 from 2.0 mgd to 4.0 mgd. Sludge from the facility is <br /> pumped to the old Biosolids holding tanks located on the same site. <br /> Since the Biosolids Dewatering Facility relocated to the County Landfill in March, 2010,the <br /> Central WWTF has been using the tanks to store sludge until it is trucked to the Bio plant at the <br /> Landfill. These tanks are in need of upgrading to help maintain the sludge in good condition <br /> before being transported to the Biosolids Dewatering Facility. <br /> Work Order No.3 with Masteller&Moler, Inc., (hereinafter referred to as M&M) will include <br /> (7)tasks to upgrade the Central Regional Biosolids Storage Tanks and associated appurtenances. <br /> Estimated construction cost for these improvements covered in the Scope of Service for Work <br /> Order No. 3 is $400,000.00. <br /> ➢ Task 1 —Surveying Service. The project area will be surveyed, including topo <br /> acquisition. <br /> ➢ Task 2—Structural Engineering Services. Existing structural's (sludge holding tanks) <br /> require inspection to insure integrity before adding additional equipment. <br /> ➢ Task 3 —Electrical Engineering Services. for removal of existing equipment& <br /> installation of new equipment. <br /> ➢ Task 4—Civil Engineering Services. Design and preparation of plans and specifications <br /> for demolition and construction of equipment and appurtenances related to the Central <br /> plant's sludge holding tanks. <br /> ➢ Task 5 —Permitting. Prepare all permitting required by Florida Department <br /> -- Environmental Protection(FDEP). <br /> 74 <br />
