PROCLAMATION <br /> RECOGNIZING JUNE 1 THROUGH JUNE 7, 2013 AS <br /> JUSTIN RINEY APPRECIATION WEEK <br /> MW <br /> WHEREAS, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners are dedicated to the <br /> protection of the Indian River Lagoon and conservation of our water resources; and <br /> WHEREAS, Justin Riney, an Indian River County resident and Mother Ocean, Inc., founder <br /> whose mission is to celebrate the unique resources of Florida's waterways and promote awareness <br /> and conservation through the Expedition Florida 500 Project; and <br /> WHEREAS, Justin Riney embarked on a paddle board on January 1, 2013 to circumnavigate the <br /> Florida Peninsula from Pensacola to Jacksonville by July 4, 2013 and then spend the next six <br /> months on the inner waterways ending in Tallahassee on December 31, 2013;and <br /> WHEREAS, Justin Riney is not only celebrating the founding of Florida 500 years ago by Ponce <br /> De Leon but raising awareness of the unique resources we have in our state and how we can all help <br /> to preserve and protect them for the next 500 years; and <br /> WHEREAS, Justin Riney has been organizing cleanups throughout his journey to educate, <br /> inspire and empower Floridians to become involved and passionate about our natural resources one <br /> step and one paddle at a time; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board encourages all residents of Indian River County to come celebrate the <br /> rpedition Florida 500 Project with Justin Riney on Sunday, June 2nd at Waldo's in Vero Beach at <br /> x.00 a.m.; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board wishes to express their appreciation to Justin Riney for all his efforts so <br /> far and wish him a safe journey. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the week of June 1 through ', <br /> 2013 be designated as JUSTIN RINEY APPRECIATION WEEK in Indian River County. <br /> Duly adopted this 21St day of May 2013.
