Gray,Jr. <br /> Coastal Engineer 9 <br /> SUBJECT: Work Order No.2 Coastal Planning and Engineering, Inc. <br /> Sector 3 Beach and Dune Restoration Repair—Post Hurricane Sandy <br /> Design and Permitting Services <br /> DATE: June 5, 2013 <br /> DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br /> On March 19, 2013 the Board approved a contract with Coastal Planning and Engineering, Inc. <br /> (CPE) for professional coastal engineering services in Indian River County for a two-year term, <br /> 2013-2015. CPE is the selected County consultant for professional engineering services related <br /> to the Sector 3 Beach and Dune Restoration Repair. <br /> (W <br /> The Sector 3 Project area sustained damage from Hurricane Sandy (October 2012) and is in <br /> need of repair to maintain protection to upland properties and infrastructure from future storm <br /> events. The proposed Work Order No. 2 provides professional engineering services for the <br /> design and permitting of the Sector 3 Beach and Dune Restoration Repair Project. <br /> The cost for Work Order No. 2 is a lump sum amount of$68,392. Please note: Task 7 of Work <br /> Order No. 2 provides a not-to-exceed amount of $5,618 for an optional permitting meeting <br /> with FDEP in Tallahassee or with USACE in Jacksonville in the event that issues arise that cannot <br /> be resolved via regular correspondence and/or conference calls. If a meeting is required,Task 7 <br /> of Work Order No. 2 will be authorized making the total maximum cost of Work Order No. 2 <br /> $74,010. <br /> FUNDING <br /> Local funding of Beach Restoration includes a portion of Local Option Tourist Tax Revenue as <br /> well as allocation of the One Cent Sales Tax. For FY 12/13, funding in the amount of$192,625 is <br /> budgeted and available for design and permitting of the Sector 3 Beach Restoration repair <br /> project in the Beach Restoration Fund, Sector 3 Renourishment—Post Hurricane Sandy Account <br /> No.12814472-066510-13014. <br /> The proposed Sector 3 Beach and Dune Restoration Repair Project is eligible for 501yo State cost <br /> share and has been included in the State approved budget for FY 2013/14.
