MEMORANDUM — Boys and Girls Club <br /> May 22, 2013 <br /> Page 2 <br /> The attached First Lease Amendment and Modification for Boys and Girls Club of Indian <br /> River County, Inc. has .been approved by their Board of Directors. The amendment <br /> provides that the Boys and Girls Club has three years to make the necessary <br /> improvements to their portion of the project. Current plans call for the Boys and Girls <br /> Club to demolish the existing building on the property and after removal of the building <br /> and slab, to create a recreational field for use by Boys and Girls Club participants. <br /> Demolition of the existing building is at no costs to the County and no additional <br /> structures are planned for the former jail site at this time. <br /> Funding: There is no expenditure of County funds associated with this matter. <br /> Recommendation: Staff recommends the Board of County Commissioners approve <br /> the First Lease Amendment and Modification and authorize the Chairman to execute <br /> the Amendment and corresponding Resolution on behalf of the- Board. Since the cost of <br /> demolition will likely be in excess of the statutory minimum of $2,500, also authorize the <br /> County Attorney's Office to sign any Notice of Commencement required for issuance of <br /> the demolition permit. <br /> c: Boys and Girls Club of Indian River County, Inc. <br /> 148 <br />
