PROCLAMATION <br /> HONORING GERALD DAMS ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM <br /> INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT&BUDGET <br /> PURCHASING DIVISION <br /> WHEREAS, Gerald Davis retired from Indian River County effective June 28, 2013; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Gerald Davis began his career with Indian River County on October 25, <br /> 1991, as Buyer for the Purchasing Department, under General Services On May 6, <br /> 2005, Gerald was promoted to the position of Manager, Purchasing, and has continued <br /> in that capacity until his retirement, <br /> WHEREAS, Gerald Davis served this County and the Public with distinction and <br /> self Zessness During his years of service, he was dedicated and his work was greatly <br /> appreciated by the employer, citizens, and co-workers alike; and <br /> WHEREAS, Gerald Davis was instrumental in many Purchasing initiatives, including <br /> but not limited to, an update of the Purchasing Policy, direct purchases which generate <br /> sales tax savings, implementation of online bid postings, local preference and <br /> purchasing ordinance: During his tenure, he provided services on several major <br /> projects including: the County Administration Building, Fire Rescue Station, Indian <br /> River Jail expansion, Emergency Operations Center, and numerous road projects; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board <br /> applauds Gerald Davis' efforts on behalf of the County, and the Board wishes to <br /> express their appreciation for the dedicated service he has given to Indian River <br /> County for the last twenty-one years; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board of County Commissioners and staff <br /> extend Gerald Davis heartfelt wishes for success in his future endeavors and a happy <br /> and prosperous retirement <br /> Adopted this 2nd day of July 2013 <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COADHSSIONERS <br /> UN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br /> O� <br /> Q <br /> A * oseph E. escher, Chairman I <br />
